建议的近义词（只需换掉“say”）

很多人在写英文文章，要引用別人说的话时，就只会写：She says...My teacher says...Aristotle says...

难道，「说」永远都只会用“say”吗？其实不是只有 say 这个动词可以用现在把各种「说」的英文学起来，你的作文会瞬间 level up噢!

什么是 Reporting Verbs？

“说”在很多不同情况下其实都有更加明确的说法，不是只有单纯的谁说了什么话，有时候可能是带有一些情感或是有些意义的，例如：他“指出”、他“形容”、他“声称”、他“提到”、他“主张”……等等。

在英文中也有很多这类的动词，我们称为“reporting verbs”，意指发表、陈述事情的动词，能够让你写作时更切中文章所想表达的意思及情境，不再只单纯的陈述谁说了什么。

这在 academic writing 中也是非常重要的，在写报告或做研究时，我们常常需要引用別人的话来做为参考，此时就会需要用到这些动词，例如：Smith argues that…/ Dr. Lin suggests that…

Suggest

(1) 建议、提议

近义词：recommend

The doctor suggests that everyone should have breakfast every day.

医生建议每个人每天都应该吃早餐。

2) 指出

近义词：indicate

All the evidence suggests that the sneaky man stole the lady’s purse.

所有证据都指出那鬼鬼祟祟的男人偷了这位女士的钱包。

(3) 暗示

近义词：imply

I am not suggesting that the man was responsible for the mistake.

我没有在暗示这男人应该为此错误负责任。

＊注意 allege 所说的声称比较有狡辩的感觉，是在没有证据的情况下所做的声称。
